Most sports competitors use food as a means of fueling themselves in an effort to gain the optimal effectiveness in their competitions. However, food should not just be a need to get food in or a source of simple energy. Food can be more satisfying and better than that, you don’t have to be a Sports Chef to create healthy gourmet foods. With a few handy tips, you’ll be able to enjoy great healthy foods that will also provide energy for your next competition.
If you enjoy languages, then perhaps you’ll want to study them in more detail, and become more fluent, and improve your accent, and knowledge of the language. You might want to live abroad, or maybe you want to be a translator.
Another reason that athletic shoes is so important is for stamina. An athlete without stamina won’t get too far when competing. They need to be able to run as far as they have to and push as hard as they can. When you eat a great diet of healthy foods that provide your body with the fuel it needs to be at its best, you will see that your stamina will improve greatly.
Tweak your diet only when it shows no positive results. A tweak would be considered something minor, such as lowering the carbohydrates, or adjusting the calories, or changing the cardio. Do not do all at the same time. Use only one tactic at a time.
Ideally, you will be taking a protein shake both before your workout and after. This is because having a protein shake before a workout can help reduce catabolism (the breakdown of muscle tissue). This will be particularly beneficial if you are planning on having a long training session.
Iron and calcium levels should be looked at carefully too. Here again, child athletes are prone to deficiencies due to the growth process. Again, sports supplements can be used to boost these levels, though getting the majority from natural foods is important. Monitoring girls for iron and calcium levels becomes increasingly important as they hit puberty.
Buy 2 eggs, and a bunch of bananas. Peel the bananas and put them in an air tight ziplock bag. Then store the entire package in the freezer. Once the bananas have been frozen, take out 1 and put it in your drink blender. Add 4 or 5 ice cubes and put in your 2 eggs as well. Then pour a glass of soy milk and blend well. You end up having a great tasting and nutritious frozen drink!
