It’s the first Friday of September and that can only mean one thing, it’s time for Labor Day weekend! From barbeques to the L.A. County Fair, there’s something for everyone this 3-day weekend.

The food truck catering can go all out. Chefs making top notch food that would rival almost any sit down restaurant. From offering gourmet burgers to sushi to fresh caught fish, cooks use their culinary skills.

Fort Pierce’s picturesque greenmarket is open Saturdays from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. and issituated along the Indian River lagoon, on Melody Lane (between the marina and library). This market offers items you won’t find elsewhere, including organic free-range poultry, gardening products, dessert coffees, lemon and lime “shake ups” and booth featuring nothing but bath and beauty products made from lavender.

Overall I highly recommend Schwan’s Special Recipe Pepperoni Pizza as long as you only need to feed one or two people. It makes a tasty lunch or a quick snack. The pizzas sell for $4.99. If you buy three Special Recipe Pizzas you save $2.50. There is a $1 delivery fee added to all deliveries.

Next to the Lindbergh MARTA Station you can get some thrills at the Gold Room’s Vampire Ball on Saturday. There is a $1000 costume contest and the evening is hosted by Vampire Diaries cast members.

Or do you see yourself at midnight with a fine cigar and champagne, after a four course meal? If so, you’ll want to check out The Winery Restaurant & Wine Bar and the Vineyard Masquerade Lounge in Tustin.
